YEs I’m Mormon, and Yes I’m Anything But Republican – Vote 4 Democrats.

Posted by patrickcurl on October 26, 2006

I’m just starting this, blog, and excited to see where it goes. First off yes, I’m LDS and I love the church, and I know I come from a large background of Republicans – in the church, and in my own family, but I’m convinced the current leaders we have in Washington are NOT getting the job done, in fact I’d go as far as to say they’ve truly messed up our entire country, maybe our world, beyond repair.

The Iraq war especially, I keep hearing ‘stay the course’ this, ‘stay the course’ that, if we just ‘stay the course’.  Well Mr. President “Staying the course”, as your father would say ‘Wouldn’t be prudent, wouldn’t be prudent’.

First off, its not working, we’re not one step closer than we were a year ago. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results, so lets change it up.

Second, I was reading where the president keeps saying we need to keep doing what we’re doing because if we don’t quote “win” the Iraq war, America will never be safe.  I think that us being over there is just pissing off all the middle east countries off even more, including Iraq, and the longer we stay over there, the more in danger we really become.

At least there’s a light at the end of this pitch black darkness, only 1 year left of Bush, and prospects are looking pretty grand that congress may be a democratic organization once again, issues that actually affect the average citizen will once again be brough before and passed through congress.  The election frontier looks very ripe, and delicious, lets hope the media isn’t smokescreening, or painting a more vivid picture than is real.

Lets make their forcast real – get out and Vote DEMOCRAT. Vote for cleaner air, and better environmental protection. Vote for less money for war, and more money to rebuild our cities, states, roads. Vote to stop the insanity in Iraq, and focus on the insecurity of our Borders. Vote to help those like Michael J Fox, with stem cell research, that doesn’t kill babies in any way, shape or form.  Help those of us who would aim for health care coverage for everyone including the 9 million children without coverage, and the 48 Million Americans without coverage.

Get out and vote your heart, vote to change America, from what it is today, into something better. We can make the world a better place, but we need to take action. Vote as if your life depends on it, because it very well might.

Thanks, and God Bless.
